IRT Wiseman:

The french still resisted, but not by killing themselves or anyone. They mainly spied and helped the British counter invasion.

Also, Nigeria is a Christian majority country. Thats why it showed up in the news so much.

I've been to India, it's quite advanced, dispite all the poverty.

Also, i've never really heard of any countries in Asia that are technophobic.

And thanks for telling me about Spain's WWII role (or lack of, as it seems). Thats been bugging me for a while.

"The Germans took over most of Europe by using a brillant tactic called 'Blitzkreig' or 'Lightning War' in English."

I knew that. Also part of the so called 'Blitzkreig' was propaganda to Goebells (sp?) used on the German people..

"The idea was to destroy communications with bomber planes as soon as possible, then invade by land."

I'm trying not to resort to sarcasm, but I knew that, too.

"Simple, but it took the defenders by surprise, so they nearly had no time to react. France's miltary was quite strong back then."

*France's military was not that strong, their whole line of defense against another German front told you that. France put up a resistance all through WWII and did somewhat good in WWI. But you see, they wern't strong enough to hold off the Germans, and I when you can't do that when you even have a whole border lined with bunkers, then I think there is a problem. Napoleon was the height of French military power, it went downhill from there until the end of WWII, where they had to rebuild, and so on and so forth.

To back up Wiseman on something:

"- Oil. As I said, in a hundred years their only source of incomes will be kaput. And earlier, if the powerful countries wanted."

Actually the way America is using it, probably much sooner like 20 years.

*Military might means to be able to hold your own in a conflict, a strong army would be able to do that.

I think it will be China. They have tons of ppl n their economies been growing fast.

I dont think there will ever be one dominant military power again, the rise of organised terrorisim has meant that the "art" of war is not the same as it was a century ago. Its easy to fight a war when you have clearly defined boared to show you who your enemy are, but terrorist are a lot harder to pinpoint. There have been many incidents of relatively small groups taking it to the larger powers and causing them a hell of a lot of trouble of the last few decades. If there is to be a dominant military power it is likely to be something along the lines lines of NATO or the UN.

Economically speaking China is everyones favourite to become the worlds strongest economy in the next few years or more. Its finally shedding its communist policies and starting to embrace capitalism(the lesser of two evils IMHO, but its the bst idealogy going). This is leading to a lot of investment in the country by N.American and EU countries. India is getting a lot of foreign company's setting up there, but so far they have been mainly going there to take advantage of the large and cheap labour pool.

The EU in its current form is not capable of becoming a super power IMO, this is mainly due to it still largely being a collection of countries rather than an entity in its own right.
